It no longer gives me such a great efficiency because the passive roller doesn't want to engage unless the gap is a bit wider so I don't get as fine a crush as I used to. From what Ive read on forums, it seems pretty standard for the barley crusher rollers to wear out after 100-150 batches.

I may be in the minority here, but I've had problems with my barley crusher. I can't get it to reliably pull grain into the rollers without the rubberband on one of them, but that thing only lasts about 3 batches... I end up double crushing each time now.
